From the Kitchen to Fame: The Story of Chef Marco

Marco a grandi dans la grande ville italienne de Milan. Enfant, il ne s’intéressait pas du tout à la cuisine et ne savait même pas préparer des plats simples.

Marco grew up in the large Italian city of Milan. As a child, he had no interest in cooking and could not even make simple dishes.

Ses parents plaisantaient en disant qu’il pouvait brûler même une bouilloire d’eau.

His parents joked that he could burn even a kettle of water.

Après l’école, il a commencé à travailler comme serveur dans un petit restaurant pour gagner de l’argent.

After school, he started working as a waiter in a small restaurant to earn money.

Un jour, le chef cuisinier est tombé malade et on a demandé à Marco d’aider en cuisine.

One day, the chef got sick, and Marco was asked to help in the kitchen.

Au début, il avait peur, mais à sa grande surprise, il trouva que cuisiner était intéressant.

At first, he was afraid, but to his surprise, he found that cooking was interesting.

Il commença à apprendre auprès des cuisiniers, à lire des livres et à essayer de nouvelles recettes chez lui.

He began learning from the chefs, reading books, and trying new recipes at home.

Quelques années plus tard, Marco devint chef cuisinier dans ce même restaurant, puis ouvrit le sien.

A few years later, Marco became the head chef in that same restaurant, and later opened his own.

Aujourd’hui, ses plats sont connus dans tout le pays, et il forme de jeunes cuisiniers.

Today, his dishes are known all over the country, and he teaches young cooks.
