Le docteur Sophie travaillait dans une petite clinique près du parc.

Un soir, alors qu’elle s’apprêtait à fermer son cabinet, elle entendit frapper doucement à la porte.

One evening, as she was about to close her office, there was a quiet knock on the door.

Sur le pas de la porte se tenait un homme avec un chapeau, tenant une grande boîte dans ses mains.

On the doorstep stood a man in a hat, holding a big box in his hands.

Il avait l’air inquiet et demanda de l’aide.

He looked nervous and asked for help.

Sophie pensa que la boîte contenait peut-être des médicaments ou des documents.

Sophie thought that inside the box there might be medicine or documents.

Mais lorsqu’elle l’ouvrit, il y avait un petit raton laveur avec une patte bandée.

But when she opened it, there was a small raccoon with a bandaged paw.

L’homme expliqua qu’il avait trouvé l’animal dans le parc et ne savait pas où aller.

The man explained that he had found the animal in the park and didn’t know where else to go.

Sophie examina soigneusement le raton laveur, changea le bandage et lui donna un peu d’eau.

Sophie carefully examined the raccoon, changed the bandage, and gave it some water.

L’animal la regarda calmement, comme s’il comprenait qu’on était en train de le sauver.

The raccoon calmly looked at her, as if it understood it was being rescued.

L’homme la remercia et promit de garder le raton laveur chez lui jusqu’à son rétablissement.

The man thanked her and promised to take the raccoon home until it recovered.

Sophie sourit longtemps après cette visite, comprenant que parfois les patients peuvent être totalement inattendus.
