Rules for -ing:
Règles pour le -ing :
Add -ing to the verb: work → working, read → reading, play → playing
Ajoutez -ing au verbe : work → working, read → reading, play → playing
Drop silent -e: write → writing, make → making, have → having
Supprimez le -e muet : write → writing, make → making, have → having
Double last consonant for one vowel + one consonant: run → running, sit → sitting, get → getting
Doublez la dernière consonne pour une voyelle + une consonne : run → running, sit → sitting, get → getting
Change -ie → -y: die → dying, lie → lying, tie → tying
Changez -ie en -y : die → dying, lie → lying, tie → tying
Do not double if ending in w, x, y: fix → fixing, snow → snowing, play → playing
Ne doublez pas si la terminaison est w, x, y : fix → fixing, snow → snowing, play → playing
