C’est une histoire sur un voyageur moderne nommé Simon Reeve.

Dans le sac à dos il y avait des vêtements un carnet et une caméra.

In the backpack there were clothes a notebook and a camera.

Il a logé dans un hôtel simple près d’un marché.

He stayed in a simple hotel near a market.

Chaque matin il sortait tôt.

Every morning he went out early.

Il marchait à pied dans les rues de la ville.

He walked on foot through the streets of the city.

Il disait bonjour aux gens et leur souriait.

He said hello to people and smiled at them.

Au marché il parlait avec les vendeurs.

At the market he talked with sellers.

Ils lui montraient des fruits et du poisson.

They showed him fruit and fish.

Un homme lui a donné du pain chaud à goûter.

One man gave him hot bread to try.

Simon mangeait le pain et écoutait l’histoire de cet homme.

Simon ate the bread and listened to this man’s story.

Puis Simon est monté dans un vieux bus.

Then Simon got on an old bus.

Le bus avançait lentement et s’arrêtait souvent.

The bus moved slowly and stopped often.

Dans le bus il y avait des enfants des femmes et des personnes âgées.

Tout le monde regardait par la fenêtre et parlait ensemble.

Simon parlait aussi avec eux avec des mots simples.

Les gens répondaient calmement et honnêtement.
