A Day at the Lake

В тёплое летнее утро Мария и Алекс решили провести выходной на озере.

On a warm summer morning, Maria and Alex decided to spend their day off at the lake.

Они собрали корзину с фруктами, бутербродами и лимонадом.

They packed a basket with fruits, sandwiches, and lemonade.

Дорога заняла всего час, и вскоре перед ними блеснула голубая гладь воды.

The trip took only an hour, and soon the blue surface of the water shimmered before them.

На берегу уже сидели люди с удочками, а дети играли в мяч.

On the shore, people were already sitting with fishing rods, and children were playing ball.

Мария расстелила плед под большим деревом, а Алекс достал фотоаппарат.

Maria spread a blanket under a big tree, and Alex took out his camera.

Они долго гуляли по берегу, собирали красивые камушки и фотографировали птиц.

They walked along the shore for a long time, collecting pretty stones and taking photos of birds.

После обеда Мария решила искупаться, а Алекс остался читать книгу.

After lunch, Maria decided to swim, while Alex stayed to read a book.

Вода была прохладной и освежающей, а вокруг слышалось только щебетание птиц и плеск волн.

The water was cool and refreshing, and all around they could hear only the birds singing and the splash of the waves.

К вечеру небо окрасилось в розовые и золотые цвета, и Мария с Алексом устроили маленький пикник, любуясь закатом.

By evening, the sky turned pink and gold, and Maria and Alex had a small picnic while watching the sunset.

Возвращаясь домой, они уже планировали, когда снова приедут на озеро.

On the way home, they were already planning their next trip to the lake.
