День у моря

Вчера Мэри поехала к морю с отцом, братом Чарльзом и сестрой Люси. Они взяли с собой еду и решили провести там весь день.

Yesterday Mary went to the beach with her father, her brother Charles, and her sister Lucy. They took some food and decided to spend the whole day there.

Отец и Чарльз сели в маленькую лодку и стали рыбачить недалеко от берега. Мэри и Люси остались у воды и собирали красивые водоросли.

Her father and Charles got into a small boat and went fishing near the shore. Mary and Lucy stayed by the water and collected beautiful seaweed.

Девочки сняли обувь и вошли в мелкую воду. У них было маленькое ведро для всего, что они находили.

The girls took off their shoes and walked into the shallow water. They had a small bucket for everything they found.

Водоросли были разных цветов: фиолетовые, розовые и коричневые. В воде одни были похожи на перья, а другие - на маленькие деревья.

The seaweed had many colors: purple, pink, and brown. In the water, some of it looked like feathers, and some looked like little trees.

И тут с Люси случилась смешная история. Она наступила на скользкий камень и вдруг плюхнулась прямо в воду.

Then something funny happened to Lucy. She stepped on a slippery stone and suddenly fell right into the water.

Сначала Люси удивилась, а потом они с Мэри начали смеяться. Платье Люси промокло, но солнце и ветер скоро его высушили.

At first Lucy was surprised, but then she and Mary started to laugh. Lucy's dress was wet, but the sun and the wind soon dried it.

Через некоторое время отец вернулся за девочками. Он посадил их в лодку, и они немного покатались по воде.

A little later, their father came back for the girls. He took them into the boat, and they went for a short ride on the water.

Потом вся семья устроила пикник в лесу рядом с берегом. Они пообедали вместе, а после еды отец положил пальто на траву и лёг отдохнуть.

Then the whole family had a picnic in the woods near the beach. They ate together, and after lunch their father put his coat on the grass and lay down to rest.

Пока отец спал, дети снова играли на пляже. Так прошёл их весёлый день у моря.

While their father slept, the children played on the beach again. That was the end of their happy day by the sea.
