Life in the Village

София живёт в небольшой деревне у реки.

Sofia lives in a small village by the river.

Дом её семьи стоит на окраине, рядом с лугом и полем пшеницы.

Her family’s house is on the edge of the village, next to a meadow and a wheat field.

Летом утро начинается с пения петухов и запаха свежего хлеба, который печёт бабушка.

In summer, the morning starts with the crowing of roosters and the smell of fresh bread baked by her grandmother.

София помогает кормить кур и уток, а потом бегает босиком по траве.

Sofia helps feed the chickens and ducks, then runs barefoot in the grass.

Днём дети собираются у реки, чтобы купаться или ловить рыбу.

During the day, children gather by the river to swim or fish.

Вечером вся семья ужинает во дворе под звёздным небом.

In the evening, the whole family has dinner in the yard under the starry sky.

После ужина дедушка рассказывает истории о своей молодости, а бабушка угощает всех мёдом и молоком.

After dinner, her grandfather tells stories about his youth, and her grandmother treats everyone to honey and milk.
