Сегодня бургер — это одно из самых популярных блюд в мире.

Today, the burger is one of the most popular dishes in the world.

Но когда-то всё началось с простой идеи.

But once, it all started with a simple idea.

В конце XIX века в Америку приезжает много иммигрантов из Европы.

At the end of the 19th century, many immigrants from Europe came to America.

Среди них были повара из немецкого города Гамбург.

Among them were cooks from the German city of Hamburg.

Они готовили котлеты из говядины по своему рецепту и называли их «гамбургский бифштекс».

They made beef patties using their own recipe and called them “Hamburg steak.”

These patties were served with bread or potatoes, but not in a bun.

One day, someone put a patty between two halves of a round bun.
