A Day at the Lake

Par un chaud matin d’été, Maria et Alex ont décidé de passer leur journée de repos au lac.

On a warm summer morning, Maria and Alex decided to spend their day off at the lake.

Ils ont préparé un panier avec des fruits, des sandwichs et de la limonade.

They packed a basket with fruits, sandwiches, and lemonade.

Le trajet n’a pris qu’une heure, et bientôt, la surface bleue de l’eau est apparue devant eux.

The trip took only an hour, and soon the blue surface of the water shimmered before them.

Sur la rive, des gens étaient déjà assis avec des cannes à pêche, et des enfants jouaient au ballon.

On the shore, people were already sitting with fishing rods, and children were playing ball.

Maria a étendu une couverture sous un grand arbre, et Alex a sorti son appareil photo.

Maria spread a blanket under a big tree, and Alex took out his camera.

Ils ont longtemps marché le long de la rive, ramassant de jolis cailloux et photographiant des oiseaux.

They walked along the shore for a long time, collecting pretty stones and taking photos of birds.

Après le déjeuner, Maria a décidé de se baigner, tandis qu’Alex est resté lire un livre.

After lunch, Maria decided to swim, while Alex stayed to read a book.

L’eau était fraîche et rafraîchissante, et tout autour on n’entendait que le chant des oiseaux et le clapotis des vagues.

The water was cool and refreshing, and all around they could hear only the birds singing and the splash of the waves.

Le soir, le ciel s’est teinté de rose et d’or, et Maria et Alex ont fait un petit pique-nique en admirant le coucher du soleil.

By evening, the sky turned pink and gold, and Maria and Alex had a small picnic while watching the sunset.

Sur le chemin du retour, ils planifiaient déjà leur prochaine visite au lac.

On the way home, they were already planning their next trip to the lake.
