  1. ¡Hola, buenos días! Bienvenidos al curso de español de LingTrio.

Hello, good morning! Welcome to the LingTrio Spanish course.

  2. Hoy vamos a empezar a usar el Futuro Compuesto de Indicativo, veremos cómo se usa para expresar probabilidad y, por último, os voy a mostrar el vocabulario “El océano”. ¿Preparados? ¡Perfecto, pues, vamos allá!

Today we are going to start using the Future Perfect Indicative, we will see how it is used to express probability, and finally, I will show you the vocabulary list on the topic “The Ocean.” Ready? Perfect, then let’s begin!

  3. EL FUTURO COMPUESTO DE INDICATIVO

    THE FUTURE PERFECT INDICATIVE

  4. El Futuro Compuesto de Indicativo, que también se llama el Futuro Perfecto, se utiliza para hablar de una acción que se hará en el futuro y que acabará antes de otra acción futura.

The Future Perfect Indicative is used to talk about an action that will happen in the future and will be completed before another future action.

  5. Para formar este tiempo verbal, tenemos que usar el verbo “haber” conjugado en el Futuro Simple y añadirle el participio del verbo que vayamos a utilizar. El verbo “haber” en el Futuro Simple se conjuga así:

To form this tense, we need to use the verb “haber” conjugated in the Simple Future and add the past participle of the verb we want to use. The verb “haber” in the Simple Future is conjugated as follows:

  6. Haber: yo habré tú habrás él, ella, usted habrá nosotros habremos vosotros habréis ellos, ellas, ustedes habrán

Haber: I will have — yo habré you will have — tú habrás he, she, you (formal) will have — él, ella, usted habrá we will have — nosotros habremos you (plural) will have — vosotros habréis they, you (plural formal) will have — ellos, ellas, ustedes habrán

  7. Y si a estas formas les añadimos el participio del verbo principal, vamos a obtener el Futuro Compuesto de Indicativo:

If we add the past participle of the main verb to these forms, we get the Future Perfect Indicative:

  8. yo habré llegado, tú habrás salido, él habrá leído nosotros habremos comido, vosotros habréis escuchado, ellos habrán dormido

I will have arrived, you will have left, he will have read we will have eaten, you will have listened, they will have slept

  9. Acordaos, por supuesto, de que algunos participios se forman a su manera, porque son irregulares. Por ejemplo:

Of course, remember that some past participles are irregular. For example:

  10. yo habré roto, tú habrás vuelto, él habrá dicho nosotros habremos hecho, vosotros habréis puesto, ellos habrán visto

I will have broken, you will have returned, he will have said we will have done, you will have put, they will have seen

  11. Como ya os he dicho, el Futuro Compuesto se utiliza para hablar de una acción que se realizará en el futuro, pero que terminará antes de otra acción que también está por venir. Por ejemplo:

As already mentioned, the Future Perfect is used to talk about an action that will happen in the future but will finish before another action that is also in the future. For example:

  12. Pasado mañana iré a la biblioteca, porque para entonces ya habré leído el libro que cogí.

The day after tomorrow I will go to the library because by then I will have read the book I borrowed.

  13. Primero terminará de leer el libro, luego irá a devolverlo a la biblioteca. Las dos acciones se realizarán en el futuro e irán en el orden mencionado.

First, the person will finish reading the book, then they will go to return it to the library. Both actions will take place in the future in the mentioned order.

  14. Otros ejemplos:

    Other examples:

  15. ¿Vendrás a recogerme a las doce? Para esa hora ya habré hecho las maletas seguro.

Will you come to pick me up at twelve? By that time, I will definitely have packed my suitcases.

  16. El examen lo tenemos el lunes. Para el lunes ya habremos estudiado de sobra.

We have the exam on Monday. By Monday, we will have studied more than enough.

  17. (“De sobra” = más que suficiente)

(“More than enough” = more than necessary)

  18. EL USO DEL FUTURO COMPUESTO DE INDICATIVO PARA EXPRESAR PROBABILIDAD

USING THE FUTURE PERFECT TO EXPRESS PROBABILITY

  19. Y ahora hablemos del otro uso del Futuro Compuesto. Y es que se utiliza para expresar la probabilidad sobre algo que ya ha podido ocurrir. O no. Para hacer una suposición al respecto, diremos:

Now let’s talk about the other use of the Future Perfect. It is used to express probability about something that may have already happened. To make a guess about it, we say:

  20. Pablo ya habrá llegado al pueblo. No sé por qué no me llama.

Pablo will have already arrived in the village. I don’t know why he hasn’t called me.

  21. Habré dicho lo que no debía, no lo sé, sólo sé que Marta se ha enfadado conmigo.

I may have said something I shouldn’t have — I don’t know, I only know that Marta got upset with me.

  22. ¿Te lo habrá dicho Félix? No, me lo dijo su madre.

Would Félix have told you? — No, his mother told me.

  23. Me habrá puesto la nota tan baja por las faltas de ortografía.

He must have given me such a low grade because of the spelling mistakes.

  24. Podemos hacer lo mismo tratándose de los verbos reflexivos. Mirad:

We can do the same with reflexive verbs. For example:

  25. Tu hermano se habrá quedado a dormir en la casa de los abuelos, por eso no viene.

Your brother will have stayed overnight at the grandparents’ house, that’s why he hasn’t come.

  26. Ellos se habrán acostado ya, es muy tarde.

They will have gone to bed already — it’s very late.

  27. ¿Te habrás sorprendido, no? No esperabas ver el piso tan limpio.

You must have been surprised, right? You didn’t expect to see the apartment so clean.

  28. EL VOCABULARIO “EL OCÉANO”

    VOCABULARY “THE OCEAN”

  29. Y ahora, tal y como os prometí, os dejo una lista de vocabulario que os puede ser útil, aunque sea en un restaurante que sirve marisco o en una pescadería:
