  1. ¡Hola, buenos días! Bienvenidos al curso de español de LingTrio.

Hello, good morning! Welcome to the LingTrio Spanish course.

  2. Hoy vamos a hablar de la expresión “Estar/no estar de acuerdo con…”, haremos frases con “Creo/pienso que…” y otras expresiones que nos permiten expresar nuestra opinión y, por último, os dejaré una lista del vocabulario “La vajilla”. ¿Preparados? Pues, ¡vamos allá!

Today we are going to talk about the expression “To agree/not to agree with…”, make sentences with “I think/believe that…” and other expressions that allow us to express our opinion, and finally, I will give you a vocabulary list on “Tableware”. Ready? Let’s go!

  3. “ESTAR/NO ESTAR DE ACUERDO CON”

    “TO AGREE/NOT TO AGREE WITH”

  4. Cuando queremos demostrar que algo nos parece bien o que lo aceptamos, utilizaremos la expresión “Estoy de acuerdo”. Y si continuamos esta frase, tendremos que introducir la preposición “con”. Por ejemplo:

When we want to show that we are fine with something or that we accept it, we use the expression “I agree”. And if we continue this sentence, we have to add the preposition “with”. For example:

  5. Estoy de acuerdo con Pedro, él sabe lo que hace.

I agree with Pedro, he knows what he’s doing.

  6. Estamos todos de acuerdo contigo.

    We all agree with you.

  7. Si estás de acuerdo, firma el papel.

If you agree, sign the paper.

  8. Y si algo no nos convence, no nos parece bien y no lo podemos aceptar, diremos “No estoy de acuerdo”. Mirad:

And if something doesn’t convince us, we don’t like it and we cannot accept it, we say “I don’t agree”. Look:

  9. Quieren ponernos otro examen más y no estamos de acuerdo.

They want to give us another exam and we don’t agree.

  10. No estoy de acuerdo con la política de la empresa.

    I don’t agree with the company’s policy.

  11. Si no estás de acuerdo, dilo.

If you don’t agree, say so.

  12. “CREO/PIENSO QUE…” Y OTRAS FORMAS DE EXPRESAR NUESTRA OPINIÓN

“I THINK/BELIEVE THAT…” AND OTHER WAYS TO EXPRESS OUR OPINION

  13. Hay muchos verbos y expresiones que nos permiten hablar de nuestra opinión. “Creo que…” y “pienso que” son, tal vez, las más básicas. Lo único que tenemos que hacer es conjugar el verbo en el tiempo que corresponde a la situación y ya está. Por ejemplo:

There are many verbs and expressions that allow us to talk about our opinion. “I think that…” and “I believe that…” are perhaps the most basic ones. All we have to do is conjugate the verb in the tense that corresponds to the situation. For example:

  14. Pienso que la vida es maravillosa.

I think that life is wonderful.

  15. He pensado que podemos ir a la playa el sábado.

I’ve thought that we could go to the beach on Saturday.

  16. Creo que casi ya estamos llegando a Aravaca.

I believe that we are almost arriving in Aravaca.

  17. Creí que aún estabas durmiendo.

I thought you were still sleeping.

  18. La única diferencia que hay entre los verbos “pensar” y “creer” es que el segundo tiene un significado más, y es el de tener fe en algo. Podemos “creer en” algo o en alguien. Por ejemplo:

The only difference between the verbs “to think” and “to believe” is that the second one has an additional meaning — to have faith in something. We can “believe in” something or someone. For example:

  19. Creo en Dios. Creemos en ti, podrás conseguirlo.

I believe in God. We believe in you, you can do it.

  20. No creo en los extraterrestres, estamos solos en el universo.

I don’t believe in extraterrestrials, we are alone in the universe.

  21. Otra forma de expresar nuestra opinión, es diciendo directamente “En mi opinión…” Por ejemplo:

Another way to express our opinion is to say directly: “In my opinion…”. For example:

  22. En mi opinión, la energía verde es un descubrimiento genial.

In my opinion, green energy is a brilliant discovery.

  23. En tu opinión, ¿cuál es la mejor película de 2024?

In your opinion, what is the best movie of 2024?

  24. Si sabemos algo con seguridad o es lo que pensamos, al menos, podemos utilizar la frase “Estoy seguro de...”. Por ejemplo:

If we know something for sure, or at least that’s what we think, we can use the phrase “I’m sure that…”. For example:

  25. Estoy seguro de que vas a aprobar este examen.

I’m sure you’re going to pass this exam.

  26. Hay algo que Paco no nos dice, estoy seguro de ello.

There is something that Paco isn’t telling us, I’m sure of it.

  27. ¿Estás segura de que puedes venir mañana a las 9?

Are you sure that you can come tomorrow at 9?

  28. Otros verbos que nos permiten expresar nuestra opinión son los siguientes:

Other verbs that allow us to express our opinion are:

    To suppose (“I suppose that…”)

  30. Opinar (“Opino que…”)

  31. Considerar (“Considero que…”)

    To consider (“I consider that…”)

  33. Vamos a hacer unas frases con ellos:
