Tomorrow, maybe, differently

Tomorrow I will leave the house early. I will take the train and travel to another city. I will think about everything I will do there.

Demain, je partirai tôt de la maison. Je prendrai le train et je voyagerai vers une autre ville. Je penserai à tout ce que je ferai là-bas.

I will meet new people and speak French all day. I will visit quiet neighborhoods and walk for a long time.

Je rencontrerai de nouvelles personnes et je parlerai français toute la journée. Je visiterai des quartiers calmes et je marcherai longtemps.

In the evening, I will come back tired but happy. I will tell myself that this choice will be a good decision.

Le soir, je rentrerai fatigué, mais content. Je me dirai que ce choix sera une bonne décision.

But sometimes I dream. I would like to live in that city. I would take my time and work less.

Mais parfois, je rêve. J’aimerais vivre dans cette ville. Je prendrais mon temps et je travaillerais moins.

I could change my life. I would do more things for myself and travel more often.

Je pourrais changer de vie. Je ferais plus de choses pour moi et je voyagerais plus souvent.

If I had more courage, I would do it now. But for the moment, I am still thinking.

Si j’avais plus de courage, je le ferais maintenant. Mais pour l’instant, je réfléchis encore.

In reality, things could have been different. I would have accepted that job abroad two years ago.

En réalité, les choses auraient pu être différentes. J’aurais accepté ce travail à l’étranger il y a deux ans.

I would have left earlier and settled somewhere else. I would have learned another language faster.

Je serais parti plus tôt et je me serais installé ailleurs. J’aurais appris une autre langue plus vite.

But I did not do it. I would have been afraid to leave my current life.

Mais je ne l’ai pas fait. J’aurais eu peur de quitter ma vie actuelle.

Today, I look toward the future. I will make clearer choices.

Aujourd’hui, je regarde vers l’avenir. Je ferai des choix plus clairs.

One day, I will know that I did what was right.

Un jour, je saurai que j’aurai fait ce qu’il fallait.
